Refinishing an antique brass bed-any products I can use to stop the smudges and tarnish build-up?

The bed is an antique. We are removing old tarnish and it looks nice.
It smudges very easy and I don’t want to keep re-polishing the bed.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Use Noxon to clean the tarnish off, then spray it with Clear Gloss Lacquer. Don’t buy semigloss it will be cloudy.

The other answers are just silly. Ketchup? When you buy a new brass bed it comes lacquered. The lacquer prevents tarnish.
