With drapes – which is nicer? blouson valance or straight valance or ascot valance?

The drapes go almost all the way to the ceiling and cover most of the wall in the living room.

It really depends on the style of your house and furnishings, and the fabric of the drapes.

Blouson, IMO, is a bit fussy (and hard to clean), but nice if the rest of the room has rich fabrics. The straight valance is nice if you have clean-lined furniture, like Danish modern. I like ascot valances myself.
