Cabin Curtain
Is this a good decorating idea for my dorm room?
I’m thinking of dying a few sheets in different colors and then rip them lengthwise so I can braid it into a rug… With some other dyed sheets, I could make curtains and a hammock.
I’m also wondering if you have any ideas for decorating a cabin. I’m going to boarding school and it is a little rustic and there is a lot of dirt, so maybe a darker color scheme. I don’t have a large budget and I’m not handy with sewing but I can build. If you have any ideas of what my cabin can look like please tell me! I want to be able to read, listen to music, do homework, play with my dog (he’s small so he doesn’t need much space to run), eat and hang out in my room… I’m going to have a roommate and my space is pretty small. Thank you for your help!!!
I like green and red a lot, more of the deep color.
Dying and ripping sheets just sounds like a whole lot of work. If you’re planning on making a hammock to lay in, you won’t be able to do it that way. If you’re making it just to hold stuff, then it might be OK.
What about going to a thrift store like Goodwill or the Salvation Army to look for fabric (check the bedding section) that way you don’t have to dye anything.
Keep in mind what your roommate likes too, you may want to plan a theme together.
Do you have a link of a picture or floorplan from the school’s website? That might help people get an idea of decorating ideas. I’m having a hard time picturing a rustic cabin as a dorm room.
