Cable Curtain
My husband constantly tells me he’s taking care of me and that i live in his house.?
My husband and I both work. He makes a considerable lot more than me. He pays for the mortgage which is close to 2k a month, the cable, the cell phones, and paying off the furniture and groceries. I pay the utilities, car insurance my car note, my daughter’s lunch clothes for the girls etc. I am running on broke with each paycheck. I Paid the deposit for the house (By way of a loan which I am still paying,) the deposit for the utilities and the cost for us to move to the new home (Truck and gas)paid to decorate the house, curtains, home decor etc. My thing is ..being that I don’t pay the big bills now, I am being ridiculed and told that I should be grateful that he is taking care of me. How is that possible? IS it true because he pays the big mortgage that he is taking care of me? How should I address this issue? Oh and btw, the says his issue is that I don’t respect him, or show him respect.
Well, he’s being honest about one thing – he doesn’t feel he has your respect. It is clear to me that he is suffering in the self-esteem department.
My advice is as follows:
Create a new Word document. Type up things you would say to him as someone you love, cherish, and admire. Describe the his physical traits that get you purring. Point out the strengths of his character and intellect. Tell him he makes your girlfriends jealous. Now review what you’ve written and polish it. Finally, buy a card (perhaps in the Thank You category) and hand-write your message for him, and sign it. Leave the card on his dashboard for him before he drives to work.
It won’t give you the retaliation you may feel inclined to, but it should change his attitude and remind him that you love him dearly.
