In crochet terms, what is a gauge exactly? And tell me basically what to do when crocheting?
Is there a certian order of stitches? And what can replace the broom lace pin for lacing? I am a extreme beginner, I am teaching myself to crochet
and tell me what exactly does Ch 12 = chain 12. mean? does that mean I make a chain 12 times?
Gauge is a comparative measurement. When they tell you the gauge is x number of stitches to the inch, that means that your x number of stitches should also measure out to one inch, if you want your finished product to match their finished product.

Chain 12 means do 12 chain stitches. “ch 12 = chain 12″ They are just explaining what the “ch” abbreviation stands for.
