Can anyone help me with a question about the cello?
I was thinking about learning to play the cello in the future and I was wondering if it’s as “hard” as the guitar. I mean..I know how to play the piano at the moment , my sister has a guitar -but I don’t take guitar classes – and when I try to sing something I find it really hard to find all those different notes there .I’m sure that in time, they become like..reflexes. Now, about the cello.. do you have different scales ? Or you just.. press those 4 strings ? Because I have noticed that there are no dividers.. ( the guitar has them) .
I’m sure I didn’t make myself clear and I’m sorry..but I don’t really know how to explain what I mean.. not even in my mother tongue.
The Cello is a great instrument both for solo and group playing. It is very different from guitar. You use fingers on each of the 4 strings you just do not have frets (dividers) which help show you where to put your fingers. You play in Bass Clef and when advanced use Tenor and treble clef as well.
Cello is usually considered a serious instrument, few people take it just to play around on now and then.
Guitar is a great instrument easy to take with you and can be use in every type of music. It can be a physical Challenge for some.
Both instruments can be very rewarding or frustrating.
Either way I recommend lessons.
