How to fix a faulty mount of drapery rods?
When I installed a drapery rod, I drilled 1/4′ holes instead of 3/16′ as instructed. That didn’t seem to be a problem at first. But after a month, two (of six, upper ones) drywall anchors comes out (about half way). I really don’t know what is the best way to fix this.
Here are some related information.
1. The rods are long (144′) and heavy (metal).
2. I combined two single rods together by using three double bracket/holdbacks purchased seperately.
3. When mounting, I didn’t try to find stud. So only hollow drywall (maybe 1/2′) there.
4. My doughter played with (including pulling) the curtains a couple of times.
It should be easy enough to manage if you get bigger drywall anchors or the kind that have a spring “alligator clip” that expands once inside the drywall.
