Furnishing Fabrics

Help! I need ideas from any creative people for art coursework ?

The project is pattern and colour and we have to design a length of wallpaper to match our client. I would like to make the piece using batik on fabric and it needs to preferably have a conversational theme. It needs to be a repeating pattern.

My Client:
female, early thirties
Has a degree in applied arts and now works in interior design.
lives in georgian town house in city.
interests – cooking, contemperary architecture and visiting galleries.
Enjoys soft furnishing and studies french evening class.
Environmentally conscious shopper so tends to avoid highstreet but will venture into a couple of highstreet shops. Likes charity shops.
My clients decor has a strong scandinavian influence
Likes romantic, calm and natural colours such as white, grey , green, pink and heather.

If you have any ideas please help as im really stuck.

Go for something very modernist, not contemporay,modernist is different from contemporary. modernism movement means early to mid-century art and architecture involving clean simple geometric structures and forms, as well as organic abstract ones. do a google search at artists joan miro, and architects (and artists) Le Corbusier and the Eames (works of charles and ray eames in art, architecture and design) for inspiration…good luck. I would say go for something abstract, simple and clean cut.
