Green Gingham

What color to paint?

I have a decent sized apartment and would like to add a little personality to it. I have 2 different couches, one is a faded forest green and the other is a forest green and white gingham pattern. The carpet is a medium slate gray color. There’s a sliding glass door on one wall, the opposite wall is for some reason paneled and painted white and the large wall in between is all white. The counter in the adjoining kitchen is dark.

So, obviously I’m dealing with an older place and older furniture (hey, I’m just out of college!) but I want it to be cute! Any suggestions?
