Can some radiators be safely positioned behind curtains?
Commonsense points to this being potentially unsafe yet I believe many people have them under the windows. Does it depend on whether they are panel convector heaters or oil-filled or liquid-free radiators? Apart from overheating I also wonder what other consequences there might be. Yellowing of the nets and even the drapes perhaps? I would really like to install a low power (400-500W) radiator panel there to help with the condensation that forms on the windows. Your experiences appreciated.
The main reason for curtains not being over rads is the loss of heat you will experience. I used to tuck my bedroom ones behind the radiator until I finally got round to shortening the curtains!
