Color or stain our crown molding?? Which would look better?

We’ve just painted our dining room tan/beige (think makeup foundation) in a satin finish and we’ll be painting the ceiling flat white to match the ceilings in the ajoining rooms. The floor, baseboard, window and door trim are all stained pine. Should we paint the crown molding white (satin or flat?), the wall color, or stain it to match the rest of the woodwork? We have high ceilings and our house is OLD, so we want to keep within the traditional decor. Any ideas would be helpful.

Trim should match. If your trim is stained wood, then your crown molding trim should be the same.
