Valance Sale

Does anyone know how to hang scarf valances?

I just bought some new drapes and I love the look of a scarf valance, but have no idea how to hang them. The displays in the stores seem to tie the scarf onto the pole. Seems easy enough, but I just can’t get it to look right. I’ve seen scarf hooks for sale, but the displays never seem to use them. Does anyone know how I can accomplish this simple look?
