Thinking of having my desk by the window with a first floor view on to a busy street, privacy vs view?

How do you keep a balance of enjoying the view and not feeling like your on stage? Any ideas for different types of blinds or anything really.

I have done this but with my desk & computer at an angle so what I am doing is not easily seen but I can still have a sideways view outside.I have voile curtains as well as normal curtains & as long as the light is not on without the main curtains being drawn I doubt anyone can actually see me.
